Live and Silent Auctions — Food, Drink, Experiences and Lifestyle Packages

Specialty Drinks ● Local Favorite Food Fare ● Live Performances

Featuring Live Performances by:

The Howard Wiley Duo - Saxophonist and Composer Howard Wiley brings his jazz duo to the Changemaker. The internationally touted performer has been featured at many jazz festivals, including the San Francisco, North Beach and Huntington Festivals. Wiley is a Thelonious Monk Scholarship recipient, Downbeat Blues/Pop/Rock Instrumentalist awardee for best soloist, and the MVP awardee for the Grammy All-American Jazz Band. A frequent San Francisco area headliner, Howard perennially graces the Intersection community with his artistry, insight and wit.

Chinaka Hodge - A Playwright, Author, Poet, Educator and 2013 Sundance Screenwriters Lab Fellow, performs in her distinct voice: “I pen the things we’re afraid to say aloud. I perform the words we’re told not to think. I inject humor where none should be.” The 2002 Youth Poetry Slam Champion showcases her aplomb with a diverse range of styles and genres on many works, including features with Bay Area staples The Getback and George Watsky. Ms. Hodge’s performance will include excerpts from Mirrors in Every Corner, the 2010 hit play produced by Intersection, Campo Santo, and The Living Word Project.

Christine Marie & Ensemble Shadow Theater with composer Dan Cantrell - Intersection Innovation Studio member and TED Fellow Christine Marie and her ensemble perform an excerpt from their new work “Signaling Arcana,” scheduled to premiere at Z Space Sept 12-15. Seamlessly integrating cast shadows, live actors and a live score by Dan Cantrell, the piece draws upon the history of the railroad to manifest a flickering world of natural phenomena and human intervention. Large-scale imagery from simple handheld lights and props takes on mythological proportions as industrialization, the loss of innocence and the burden of time blend into an incandescent work of expressionist theater.

Felonious - Members of San Francisco’s premiere live hip-hop music and theater collective perform in their incomparable style. From amazing beatbox a capella rap performances, to their ill live band sets and theatrical presentations, this troupe of MCs and musicians kill it every time they get on stage. The collective wrote and starred in a number of theatrical productions that add a unique take on hip hop culture, including Beatbox: A Raparetta, a play performed entirely in rap, accompanied by beatbox and a live DJ. The play was featured in The Source hip hop magazine.

Rashad Pridgen - Soul Nubian Dance Dance artist, facilitator and founder of AfroHouseHop dance movement, Rashad Pridgen has been a part of the urban dance culture for more than 15 years. With roots in underground dance culture, AfroHouseHop builds on the stylistic forms of Pan-African dance, the soul of Deep House and the momentum of Hip-Hop. This unique blend of movement explores the foundations of House dance, which includes choreography and a freestyle component.

The Cast of The River featuring Anna Maria Luera, Donald E. Lacy, Jr. and guitarist Steve Boss - The talented performers deliver excerpts from Intersection for the Arts and Campo Santo’s world premiere of Richard Montoya’s “Border Series” play. This piece is another stop on the #Califas journey: a year-long Triangle Lab project to gather, share and perform stories of our journeys home.
