discuss the role art and performance play in social justice?
learn how to have challenging conversations about racism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, ableism, and other “isms”
create radical art that challenges systems of oppression
develop skills to be a better ally
Art and artists have a long history of promoting social change and challenging societal norms, and we have a responsibility to continue that tradition through our creative work, discussions, and direct action. This four-hour workshop will focus on developing skills to challenge work, discourse, and the status quo regarding institutionalized and systemic discrimination and oppression – through practicing conversations, creating radical artwork, and organizing direct action. Join facilitators Beatrice Thomas and Christopher White in either Oakland or San Francisco.
