Joining the fight to help San Francisco's homelessness crisis, many of the Bay Area's foremost musicians banded together for the recording of a singular benefit album, Blanket TheHomeless (Release Date: November 8, 2019).
Produced by lauded Marin-based songwriter Scott Mickelson, Blanket The Homeless features 15 original songs by two-time GRAMMY Award-winning Fantastic Negrito; The Stone Foxes; Tim Bluhm (of The Mother Hips); Con Brio; Goodnight, Texas; The Brothers Comatose; Mickelson; Rainbow Girls; John Craigie; Marty O'Reilly & The Old Soul Orchestra; King Dream; The Coffis Brothers; Tobias The Owl; Ken Newman; and Whiskerman.
A highlight will be a performance by King Dream. With a soulful voice, roots in the golden age of California psychedelia, and a modern indie rock energy that places him firmly in the 21st century, Lyon charts a path through timeless themes: disillusionment with oneself, with adulthood, with one's country -- and the discovery, time and again, that somehow there's still plenty worthy of a love song.
The concert on November 7th will be the record release of the limited edition double LP. All proceeds will go to the Blanket The Homeless organization.
