ArtSeed's 11th Annual Earth Week Art-a-thon is a 10-hour art-and-music-making benefit. Try all sorts of art-making, watch demos, or simply enjoy live music, free food and easy parking. Submit your art to exhibit at ArtSeed's Hunters Point Shipyard Open Studios the following weekend or take it home.
Location: The Presidio's Tides Converge, Rear Entrance: 1016 Torney Ave., San Francisco.
Why: The Art-a-thon kicks off ArtSeed's current programming theme of Freedom that culminates in a large ArtSeed exhibition in the Presidio Fall 2019. The goal of the Art-a-thon is also to raise funds to keep Summer Intensives and art-making mentorships available to all regardless of ability to pay. A suggested door donation of $20/Adults & $10/children and seniors applies plus every $20 given, raised or pledged by friends earns tickets to win various fabulous prizes. No one turned away for lack of funds.
Come any time and stay for any duration 10am-8pm. Work on your own projects or take advantage of the expert guidance and supplies provided. The event culminates in presentation of artwork made that day, guest artist appearances, and the awarding of prizes: gift certificates and other nifty items.
Drop-ins are ok but be prepared to register at the door. You get a drawing ticket for each $20 pledge or donation you raise for ArtSeed. A $20 registration fee is suggested to help offset event costs. For more info contact at
