Steinway Society The Bay Area, the non-profit organization dedicated to promoting excellence in piano performance and music education in the Bay Area, launches its 20th Annual Piano Series by presenting the internationally distinguished virtuoso Agustin Anievas. Praised for his sensitive musicality, Mr. Anievas has appeared in solo recitals and alongside orchestras performing for music lovers around the world.

Mr. Anievas’ love for music began before his fourth birthday, when he started his piano studies. He appeared in his first recital before he turned five, at the age of twelve, Mr. Anievas became the youngest artist ever to receive the honor of being presented in a major recital at Mexico City’s Palacio de Bellas Artes. After studying with the renowned Adele Marcus at the Juilliard School, Mr. Anievas went on to launch a performing career that brought him to the world’s most distinguished music centers. His EMI recordings of Brahms, Chopin, Liszt, Schubert, and Rachmaninoff are considered to be examples of the best American pianism.
