Afrolicious Performing with Lio Ben-Hur & Sol Tevel for Double Album Preview Party!

Afrolicious announced that they will host a show at the Independent to release some new music. Their album ‘Ways of Seeing’ makes an official release this summer but they will preview the music by playing it live for the first time at the Independent on Friday May 26th in San Francisco. The band is very excited to share this uplifting night of music with the soulful grooves of Lior Be-Hur and Sol Tével as they release their new album as well as a high energy live set by Will Magid. Afrolicious looks forward to sharing this amazing night of music and joy with the city that gave birth to this project. You can get a preview of some of this album on their soundcloud page.
Afrolicious announced they will be releasing ‘Ways of Seeing’ an 8 track sonic exploration that is at once familiar and fresh sounding. Afrolicious has drawn from a deep love of banging bass lines, heavy horn keyboard melodies, funky and rhythmic guitars, hard hitting beats, poly-rhythmic percussion, and soulful vocals to deliver a timely and fun album.The use of traditional instrumentation, guitars, bass, saxophone, organs, electric pianos, congas, drum kits, mixed with drum machines, synthesizers, electronic strings and sounds makes for a throw back and forward at the same time. The grooves are there as a solid foundation for the songs to flow over like hot lava over rocks. This album will make you dance, smile, feel the pain of life and a world unravelling. This album serves as a hopeful reminder that we are here as travelers through this earth, enjoying a brief moment in this human form, let’s dance and try to show some love while we can.
