DJ J. Espinosa is Red Bull Music’s 2019 3Style Champion
Red Bull Music 3Style, the world’s largest global DJ competition held in Taipei, crowned San Francisco’s own J. Espinosa as the winner of the 2019 IX World Championship.
DJ J. Espinosa has deep local roots, serving as the hometown DJ for the Oakland Raiders and performing on FM radio station 99.7 NOW. He’s a veteran of the 3Style DJ competition, having won the USA national titles back in 2015 and 2018.
Espinosa displayed groundbreaking beats, unique tracks, and technical skills to overcome the competition (over 1,200 DJs applied to be this year’s 3Style Champion) and ultimately win over the judges. DJ Fummy (Japan) came in 2nd place; followed by DJ Trapment (Canada) in 3rd place.
Turntable celebrities DJ Jazzy Jeff, Skratch Bastid, DJ Craze, Nina Las Vegas, and DJ Nu-Mark judged the event that included special guests Grandtheft, along with past 3Style champions Shintaro, DJ Byte, and Four Color Zack.
