Dub Nation Takes Over SOMArts with Warriors-Themed Art Show

In its second installation, “Dubz Against the World” swishes into SOMArts Cultural Center over the weekend of April 6-8 with a gallery collection that’s sure to rally both art and basketball fans alike.

The show will feature works from over 50 local and national artists who have created stylized portraits with just the sort of ornamental fervor you’d expect from watching the Golden State Warriors players out on the court.

Dub Nation aficionados can enjoy live music, art from the Illuminaries, animated shorts, games and food trucks at the event. Bartenders will also be serving up Dubs-themed specialty cocktails.

The event is being hosted by Kitzy Studios and Conscious Basketball, a collective of basketball-loving artists that produce hoop exhibitions worldwide.

A portion of the event proceeds will go to Welcome Home Sanctuary, an environmentally-focused organization working towards building a sustainable community rooted in empowerment and awareness, and teaches the public the profound impact we have on our environment.

The 20,000 sq foot space at SOMArts has been a vital part of San Francisco’s arts ecosystem since its founding in 1979. You can find more information about the event and links to the participating artists here.
