Organizers behind the Lightning in a Bottle music festival announced the phase 1 lineup for this year’s event, headlined by rapper Anderson .Paak & and his band the Free Nationals, Chinese American electronic musician ZHU, as well as funky, electro-soul act GRiZ.
Lightning in a Bottle, which takes place over six days at San Antonio Recreation Area in Central California (see photos from last year) during Memorial Day weekend, is the granddaddy festival put on by Los Angeles collective, The Do LaB. More than 30,000 people will once again gather at a natural lake bed to soak in electronic beats and enjoy offerings like sustainability workshops, interactive experiences, and yoga classes. The Do LaB has a dedicated stage at Coachella (who’s lineup should be announced in March) and uses its artistic clout to promotes music festivals through the creation of interactive environments and one-of-a-kind structured exhibits.
Other noteworthy acts appearing on the phase 1 lineup include electronic trio The Glitch Mob, experimental world fusion group Beats Antique, Los Angeles DJ/producer Jennifer Lee, a.k.a. TOKiMONSTA, Portland-based electronic producer Emancipator, and Bay Area talent Giraffage.
Lightning in a Bottle tickets go on sale this Thursday, January 18th at 10am PST. There is a layaway option to purchase tickets and pay the cost in installments. The last day to utilize Layaway Plans for festival passes is February 1 at 11:59pm PST.
This is just the first phase lineup. Artists performing on the Grand Artique, Pagoda, Favela, and Compass stages will be announced in the near future. See below for the current list of confirmed performers by stage.
