KQED’s Check, Please! Party to Include 40+ Restaurants

This year KQED’s much-loved Check Please! program turns 10. To celebrate, the annual Check, Please! Bay Area Taste & Sip event is going bigger than ever – with more than 40 restaurants, vendors and featured wineries taking over the San Francisco Design Galleria on June 2nd. Offering tastings, among others, are Bacon Bacon, Chop Bar, DOSA, Gamine, Rohnert Park’s Hana Japanese Restaurant and many others featured on the Emmy Award-winning program over the years.

Wineries such as Iron Horse Vineyards, McEvoy Ranch and New Zealand Winegrowers will provide tastings, catering to host’s Leslie Sbrocco love of the wine and winemakers.

In addition to the restaurants, the Bay Area foodies who picked them will be there too – KQED promises to invite favorite participants from the show’s 10 seasons and provide attendees the opportunity to chat with them in person. This adds a reunion appeal to the event, boosting the show’s low-key, local vibe.

The very personable and always upbeat Leslie Sbrocco will be on location too, of course – ready to talk wine and perhaps take selfies with lucky fans. Tickets (on sale May 1st) are $70 for KQED members and $80 for those without a membership.
