Open Canvas Offers Free Interactive Exhibit for Local Artists

Local and emerging artists are getting set to transform the streets of San Francisco into an interactive outdoor exhibit through ABSOLUT’s Open Canvas initiative.

The event on Saturday, August 24 will feature more than 20 artists, who will be turning Divisadero Street into an “open canvas” experience. Earlier this month, Divisadero was painted white, providing the canvas for all of these artists. On Saturday, from 1-6pm, they will be working outside to showcase their pieces, with the public able to interact and experience the creative process in motion.

The transformation is expected to be nearly complete by Sunday and will be on public display through September 1 on Divisadero Street, between Grove and Hayes, with interactive happenings daily from 3-7pm.

ABSOLUT’s first event was held in Brooklyn earlier this summer, as entire street blocks were transformed into an aesthetic experience.
