San Francisco Independence Day Specials

It’s a day of grilling, barbecues and watching fireworks. Or if you’re in San Francisco, eating and drinking at some of your favorite restaurants that are open this 4th of July. Here’s a few spots offering up bites and beverages to enjoy.

Maverick: An Independence Day celebration really wouldn’t be the same without burgers and hot dogs right? Well at Maverick, diners will have the rare opportunity to get their hands on the infamous Bacon Butter Burger. Typically, it’s only offered on Saturdays. But for one day only, it will be offered all night for $13. Add an over easy egg for $1.50 more. Maverick is located at 3316 17 th Street.

15 Romolo: The North Beach bar is celebrating the 4th of July by introducing its brand-new Summer BBQ menu. Among the bar bites: corn on the cob, crispy dogs, bbq chicken, pig’s ears and American pie. Drinks include the Backyard Swizzle, Brasil ’66 Batida, Americano, Smokehouse Tea and Sleepy Jean. 15 Romolo is located at 15 Romolo Place in North Beach.

Four Seasons Bar & Lounge: The Four Seasons in San Francisco is offering up a special Violet Hour menu for Independence Day week. Drinks include the Tea Party (Bourbon, White Tea liqueur, honey, lemon), American Flag (muddled basil and blueberries, Hangar I Lemon, lemonade) and Starry Night (gin, lemon juice, sparkling). The Four Seasons Bar & Lounge is located at 757 Market Street. The Violet Hour menu is offered from 9:00 p.m.-close.

Drink specials abound as there are also a few places offering patriotic drinks this Independence Day.

B Bar SF: The Liberty Belle (ingredients and directions below)

1 1/2 oz Jefferson’s Bourbon

1 1/2 oz 21st Amendment IPA

1/2 oz Unfiltered Apple Juice

1/2 oz Maple Syrup

1/2 oz Lemon Juice

4 dash Angostura bitters

1 dash Creole Bitters

1 dash Baked Apple Bitters

Combine ingredients over ice in a shaker, except for the beer. Shake it 15 times and double strain it into a cocktail glass. Top it off with 1.5 oz of IPA.

Gently stir with a bar-spoon, once.

Garnish it with a slice of dehydrated red-apple peel and a dried blueberry.

Presidio Social Club: Of Thee I Sing, Baby

1 1/2 oz. Jamaican Rum (Appleton V/X)

3/4 oz. lime juice

1/2 oz Cointreau

1/4 oz. grenadine (real grenadine made from pomegranates is preferable.)

Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a lime wedge.

Chaya SF: Kentucky Lemon Tree

This drink, featured all weekend long, includes Rye Whiskey, Limoncello, Lemonade and Soda.
