‘Virtual Girlfriend’ Offered for Facebook Users

A startup company is offering a new service to Facebook users who aren’t ready to admit online that they don’t have a significant other.

AOL News reports that Cloud Girlfriend allows users to “create the perfect girlfriend who will write on your Facebook wall… and make her presence known through social media.”

Although the service has yet to officially launch, AOL reports that the site is “already generating overwhelming interest.”

According to the website, it’s easy to sign up: “Step 1: Define your perfect girlfriend. Step 2: We bring her into existence. Step 3: Connect and interact with her publicly on your favorite social network. Step 4: Enjoy a public long distance relationship with your perfect girl.”

AOL reports that the viability of the site is still up in the air, as Facebook’s Terms of Service agreement “strictly prohibits computer controlled accounts.”
