Fresh & Easy in the Mission?

Ah, if only things were truly fresh and easy in the Mission. According to Curbed SF, the British grocery chain is on the verge of signing a 20-year lease at the recently vacated De Lano’s store on South Van Ness between 23rd and 24th Streets. According to one commentator, the Fresh and Easy would be a breathe of, well, fresh air, dubbing it the “anti- Whole Foods” offering quality but cheap produce. What’s not to like about that? But, of course, not everyone is pleased.

Curbed reports that, “The length of the lease is raising eyebrows, and most people involved in the deal are concerned that the Mission won’t embrace the brand with open arms.”
