This weekend one of the biggest music and arts festivals the city has ever seen takes over Golden Gate Park. If you live near the park, we suggest you stock up on food and don't move your car all weekend. Seriously. For many music lovers, this is the moment they've been waiting for all year - the chance to see over 60 bands - and anticipation is high. While for those not interested, or willing to shill out the steep $100/day for tickets, there are plenty of alternatives. Kick off the week with Brent Knopf's Ramona Falls at Café du Nord then phase into Poleng Lounge's Disco vs. Dubstep. For the latest and greatest in fresh, local music, check out songstress VinCi at Harlot. Friday kicks off the Outlands Lands Music and Arts Festival with super headliner Pearl Jam at the helm; check out our picks for the best of the Fest! There's also the Mishap Prom at The Blue Macaw where you can make up for bad memories. This happens to be Sneaker Week and shoe aficionados will be fawning over the wares at Sneaker Pimps, the world's largest touring sneaker hip hop lifestyle exhibition featuring over 1500 pairs of rare kicks along with music, art and more. Sunday is going to be an East Bay kind of day - first stuff your face at the Eat Real Fest (more street food!) in Jack London Square and afterwards head to Tilden Park Golf Course for the G Force Classic Charity Golf Tournament benefiting the Boy Scouts of America. All in all, this weekend will be a good time for everyone.
