Restaurants Open for Christmas, New Year’s

Holiday meals can be daunting, but several San Francisco and Bay Area restaurants are open Christmas and New Year’s to accommodate those who don’t have the space to host guest or want to try something new for the holidays. Espetus Churrascaria
1686 MARKET ST.
For big appetites on Christmas Eve, Espetus Churrascaria offers an indulgent all-you-can-eat Brazilian Rodizio menu that with a gourmet salad bar with 15 to 20 items, hot side dishes and 12 to 14 varieties of skewered meat carved tableside.

Ichi Sushi
3369 MISSION ST.
Ichi is celebrating New Year’s Eve with a prix fixe menu and sparkling toast in its final weeks at its original Bernal Hieghts location before moving to the Mission. Chef Tim Archuleta and his wife/partner Erin Archuleta are offering a reservation-only prix fixe Menu with specialty Japanese offerings with sake pairings to complement each dish. $120 per person and an addition $35 for sake pairings.

Kung Pao Kosher Comedy
772 PACIFIC AVE
A tradition for 20 years in San Francisco, Kung Pao Kosher Comedy returns December 24-26 with headliner Gary Gulman and a full lineup of comedians at New Asia Restaurant in Chinatown. A seven-course meal is offered Chinese banquet-style during the dinner show with plenty of options for omnivores and vegetarians. Veggie dim sum is served in small portions for the cocktail show.

2355 CHESTNUT ST.
A16 celebrates Christmas Eve with Feast of the Seven Fishes. The meal is an Italian-American tradition, with a seven-course meal featuring seafood dish from Executive Chef Chris Thompson. Offerings include Yellowtail Crudo with blood orange, yogurt, dill and fennel; Octopus Stew with potato, green olives and cecineri; and Grilled Swordfish with caponata, caper berries, golden raisins and pinenuts. A special a la carte menu is priced at $80 per person with optional $65 wine pairing.

Hopscotch
1915 SAN PABLO AVE., OAKLAND
In addition to a four-course prix fixe menu New Year’s Eve, Chef Kyle Itani offers a seafood platter of raw and cooked shellfish using seafood from the Pacific Coast, inspired by a recent trip to Aomori, Japan. Festive beverage pairings will also be available for diners. A hangover-friendly brunch will be offered New Year’s Day with Pork Belly Benedict, Biscuits and Gravy, Kimchee Fried Rice and the popular First Base Burger.

Flour + Water
2401 HARRISON ST.
Italian favorite Flour + Water will remain open on Christmas Eve with an a la carte menu and a tasting menu. Choices from the full wine list or optional wine pairings will be available. A New Year’s Eve menu form Chef Thomas McNaughton will be served for $95 per person, with optional wine pairings at $65 per person.

Piperade
1015 BATTERY ST.
Piperade offers a three-course prix-fixe menu with entrée choices roasted chicken galantine, sauteed black cod, roasted rack of lamb and filet of beef, with a festive dessert menu to follow.

Waiheke Island Yacht Club
1256 THE EMBARCADERO
Waiheke Island Yacht Club, a pop-up restaurant create for America’s Cup, celebrates its final night of operation on New Year’s Eve with “The Last Supper” and “The Last Party.” The dinner will feature a tasting menu from Chef Hayden McMillan, followed by a party inspired by Studio 54’s historic final bash with New Zealand DJ Roger Perry.

Hi Lo BBQ
3416 19TH ST.
Hi Lo BBQ offers family-style Rib Roast on Christmas Eve with Chef Robin Song working the smoker with festive snacks, sides and dessert for $45. An a la carte menu and holiday cocktails will be offered throughout the evening. The restaurant celebrates New Year’s Eve with pig roast and open bar, accompanied by a DJ and dance floor to work off the tasty pig parts before and after the ball Tickets for the party are $90

Bluestem Brasserie
1 YERBA BUENA LANE
Bluestem Brasserie is hosting a three- and four-course prix fixe New Year’s Eve Dinner. Executive Chef Francis Hogan’s menu will be offered during two seatings: the first will allow a quick but enjoyable three courses for those on their way to new year’s parties later that night, followed by a festive four-course seating.

Alioto’s Restaurant
#8 FISHERMAN’S WHARF
Alioto’s is offering a Christmas Eve pre fixe dinner along with their a la carte menu, among festive lights, trees, ornaments and even a few santas. The restaurant will also be open for New Year’s Eve dinner, with a special pre fixe menu.

Perbacco
230 CALIFORNIA ST.
Open Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, Perbacco offers a traditional menu of authentic, ingredient-driven dishes with a nod to the Italy’s Piemonte region, with a touch of Liguria and Provence influences.

One Market
1 MARKET ST.
One Market Chef Mark Dommen offers a special Christmas Eve menu with holiday favorites including, hand-picked Dungeness crab, spit-roasted prime rib, Day Boat scallops, bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin and sticky toffee apple pudding.
