SF IndieFest Announces New Northern California Action/Sports Film Festival

SF IndieFest, curator of some of the best film festivals in the Bay Area (SF IndieFest, Another Hole in the Head, SF Documentary Film Festival), announced a new addition to its lineup with the Northern California Action/Sports Film Festival, September 28-30.

While not much has been announced about the festival’s impending debut, it will be three days of adventure films (that’s surfing/skating/skiing/climbing/biking/paddling/mountaineering for those who want more specificity) and will include themed parties as well. Oh, and the best part? Most of the screenings will be free! Screenings will take place in the city of San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Walnut Creek and Sebastopol.

In lieu of any specifics about the lineup, parties, guests and whatever else can be expected at the festival, two films have been announced: Manufacturing Stoke, a film shot along the California cost about the culture of surfing and the dichotomy between the surfer’s relationship with nature and the toxic materials used in the sport (trailer here) and Solitaire: A Backcountry Skiing, Snowboarding, and Telemark Film (trailer here).

Those trailers should satiate the appetites of all Bay Area film and wilderness lovers and ignite the excitement for more. Keep an eye on SF Indie’s official website for more information as it becomes available.
