Scott Richards Contemporary Art is proud to present Material Rhythm, a solo exhibition of sculptural works by Los Angeles artist, Eric Zammitt.
The exhibit opens with a reception for the artist on Saturday, April 6, 4 - 6 pm and continues through April 27.
Eric Zammitt creates complex sculptural abstractions through an intensive process of fusing and deconstructing tens of thousands of solid bits of richly colored acrylic plastic. Rhythmic color combinations appear to pulse with vibrational energy, recalling the sequential patterns found in music, oscillating sound and light waves and genetic sequencing. The overall effect is a compelling, almost meditative experience that enraptures the viewer on an intellectual, emotional and even spiritual level.
Zammitt has widely exhibited throughout the United States, Japan and Korea. His works are a part of many private and public collections including the Harris Gallery, University of La Verne, CA; the Museum of Art and History, Eglash Collection, Lancaster, CA; and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA.
"Like classical music, my work is grounded in structure and rhythm, intertwining logic and emotion". Eric Zammitt
