President Obama to Hold Town Hall Meeting on Facebook

President Barack Obama will be making another appearance in the Bay Area later this month, this time kicking off his fundraising campaign for the 2012 election.

The April 20 trip will include a busy itinerary, as he intends to start out in Palo Alto with a town hall-style session on Facebook at the social media company’s headquarters.

According to the White House’s Facebook page, the session will include Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg and will be streamed live over the Internet. The president is expected to discuss the economy and the need to reduce the government’s debt while still spending on innovation and other administration priorities.

Then he will be off to San Francisco, where the “Obama Victory Fund 2012 Kick-Off” will be held at the Nob Hill Masonic Center.

Tickets for that event are currently on sale at barackobama.com.
