Paul Schoenfield Five Days from the Life of a Manic Depressive (1984)

Since joining forces as the professional duo ZOFO in 2009, internationally acclaimed solo pianists Eva-Maria Zimmermann and Keisuke Nakagoshi have electrified audiences from Carnegie Hall to Tokyo Japan with their dazzling artistry and outside-the-box thematic programming for piano-four-hands. This Grammy-nominated, prize-winning Steinway Artist Ensemble—one of only a handful of duos worldwide devoted exclusively to piano duets—is blazing a bold new path for four-hands groups by focusing on 20th and 21st century repertoire and by commissioning new works from noted composers each year. This is an all-American one-piano-four-hand program, featuring the World Premieres of works by three young and very exciting composers, Katherine Balch, Gabriella Smith and Dylan Mattingly. Also included are Terry Riley's G-Song, which was written for the Kronos Quartet and has lately been arranged by ZOFO, Harold Shapero’s Sonata, composed for the duo he had with Leonard Bernstein at that time, Ryan Brown's charming I heard bells from my rotating house, and Paul Schoenfield's crazy Five Days from the Life of a Manic Depressive.
