Revered for its dazzling artistry and outside-the-box thematic programming for piano-four-hands, the internationally acclaimed ZOFO Duet, featuring solo pianists Keisuke Nakagoshi and Eva-Maria Zimmermann, performs in Mill Valley Sunday - March 18, 2018. The concert program will include Casella: Pupazzetti; Nakagoshi: Synaesthesia (2012); Schubert: Fantasy in f-minor; Stravinsky: 3 Movements from Petrushka; Nicholas Pavkovic: Chimaera (arr. 2012); and Dukas: The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
The Grammy-nominated and prize-winning Steinway Artist ensemble, the San Francisco based ZOFO Duet is one of only a handful of duos worldwide devoted exclusively to piano duets. ZOFO is for its bold exploration and commission of new works from noted composers and its rediscovery of hidden gems of the traditional one piano, four-hands repertoire with a strong dedication to 20th and 21st Century works.
Since joining forces as a professional duo in 2009, ZOFO has electrified audiences from Carnegie Hall to Tokyo., Japan and has received praise from renowned national music critics and reporters including those representing the New York Times, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, Bachtrack and San Francisco Classical Voice.
