After a two-year pandemic fueled hiatus, the 10th edition of Yerba Buena Night is expanding to new outdoor and indoor venues throughout the Yerba Buena cultural district for the popular evening of free music, dance and performance.
Yerba Buena Night returns October 8, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Jessie Square, Yerba Buena Lane, Yerba Buena Gardens, museums, galleries and restaurants. Performers, art and artists also will be at 111 Minna Gallery, Executive Order, American Bookbinders Museum, The Museum of the African Diaspora, Fly Trap restaurant, and other venues.
"The showcase is taking over the Yerba Buena neighborhood that night," said Richard Ciccarone, Director of Branding, Activation and Marketing for the Yerba Buena Community Benefit District, the event organizer. "After two years of cultural stagnancy without live music, dance, or theater performances, this is a great way to reconnect artists with audiences."
Dozens of acts are scheduled to perform on multiple outdoor stages and at indoor venues. Among the artists and art this year are singer-songwriter Jelah, local theater groups Word for Word and the San Francisco Neo-Futurists, Theater Flamenco, Hope Mohr Dance, Nicole Maria Dance, as well as a massive inflatable light sculpture and sound garden. Country, rock and jazz along with dancers, aerialists and circus performers are also performing.
