To celebrate World Embroidery Day, SNAD will be holding a “Human Stitch-In”—playing on the Human Be-In that took place in 1967 and continuing our 50th-anniversary Summer of Love festivities!Join us in the Presidio at the awesome Presidio Picnic from 11am-4pm, at the corner of Sheridan and Anza, where experienced stitchers and newcomers alike will embroider together to a create a giant communal peace-symbol banner. Bring a picnic or enjoy the international food trucks. Amid the music and under a canopy, we'll share stories and stitches. Add your creativity around the outside edge or sit within the inner cut-outs to embellish the inner peace sign. Kids welcome! If you can’t celebrate World Embroidery Day with us at the Presido Picnic, we hope you will celebrate in your own way—wear embroidery, go outside and embroider with others.
