Ryan Gingeras joined the National Security Affairs Department in June 2010. He is currently the Associate Chair of Instruction and the Chair of the Doctoral Committee. Trained as a historian of the late Ottoman Empire, his teaching and research interests span the greater Middle East.

Gingeras will discuss the Turkish prime minister and the countless challenges Turkey faces as it "strives to be a bridge between the East and the West."
