Straight from Portland comes a trio that delivers raw psychedelic garage-rock in the realm of the Black Angels and very early Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Sparkerella is a good sampling of the band-aside from the occasional, long, instrumental tracks, it has noisy chord shredding, touches of electric organs and fast, killer drums, all backed by a chanting crowd of vocals. Vocalist Justin D. Fowler howls away on songs like "White Bats" and "Plastic Man Man" overlaid by the messy sounds of energetic punk-fueled guitars and drums. (Amulya Datla)
