Rachel Liu's solo exhibition, "Witness", is comprised of a series of black and white landscape photographs of her adopted homeland, the Silicon Valley, that invites contemplation and reflection on a site that has witnessed and endured many changing economic forces and cycles. By looking back to history, to marginalized communities and landscapes in transition that juxtapose traces of the old and new, these images offer an alternative story to the conventional belief of Silicon Valley as the archetypal promised land of opportunities. These images suggest a multifaceted landscape that is filled with simultaneous promise and disappointment, hope and disillusionment, beauty and loss.
This event is free and open to the public. View our exhibition, enjoy food and drinks, and meet with the artist. Liu's "Witness" will be on view through November.
