San Francisco International Arts Festival is pleased to announce a very special occasion to welcome the holiday season and to celebrate that ebb and flow by the (winter full) moon with food, wine, ritual and song.
This auspicious event will take place at the edge of the Pacific Ocean at the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) with a full view (weather permitting) of Luna’s winter ascent over the Bay and the Golden Gate. In addition to seasonal festivities, the date will include the announcement of the 2018 Festival program and serve as the organization’s annual fundraising soiree.
Guests will participate in a special lunar ritual, be serenaded by international vocalist Lua Hadar, witness live action moon inspired calligraphy by Ryosuke Ueda accompanied by Shura Taylor on guzheng and classical Chinese verse and be charmed by youth members of the Ushanjali ensemble representing the Festival’s family program with Bharatanatyam Indian Dance.
