Wine Tasting & Ekphrastic Poetry Reading Event During Hope Lives: Art for ALS Exhibition

SEE EVENT DETAILS
This special event includes tastings with Lloyd Davis wines from Sonoma's Corner 103 paired with original poetry readings inspired by the artwork in the exhibition. The tasting and poems will explore memory, a sense of place and meditative reflection. Visit the gallery to explore beautiful and inspiring artwork, gather together for a good cause and engage with artists and poets in a fun and friendly space.

Hope Lives: Art for ALS developed out of a sister's love. Melissa Stephens started the art exhibition and fundraiser in the spirit of her sister's fierce determination to advocate for herself and others struggling with this disease.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease, is a fatal, neurodegenerative disease that kills the motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. Following diagnosis, the average lifespan is 2-5 years. There is no cure.

To get people talking during the exhibition, Stephens arranged several events and raffles during this fundraising exhibition. Discover more about this and other events on the Hope Lives: Art for ALS website. The Hope Lives: Art for ALS exhibition is open May 2 - 26, 2023.

Poets include: SF Poet Laureate, Tongo Eisen-Martin, Dean Rader, Sarah Rosenthal, Brittany Perham & Peter Kline. The exhibition showcases 11 artists featuring sculpture, collage, mixed media & encaustic paintings. All sales benefit the Golden West Chapter of The ALS Association.

Participating Artists are: Karen Buttwinick, Kim Cardoso, Mort Cohn, Victoria Drake, Susan Erickson, Ken Gold, Rinat Goren, Claudette McDermott, Melissa Stephens, Dee Tivenan & Mira M. White
