WIGGIN' OUT WITH PILE PALACE ~ KEVIN ANDERSON, DINK, BENGAL, R. FENTZ, EVAN CASEY

Kevin Anderson
Kevin Anderson is a living party, that manifests itself inside the music and vibe when he DJs. Driven by a deep seeded passion for house music, Kevin understands that those roots lie in the party and in dance – which is what motivates him while he's behind the decks.

Where did it start? Kevin was caught partying a bit too hard as a teenager in high school, was punished by his parents for a full summer, and they bought him a pair of technics turntables to direct his passion for partying to music. Now, 7 years later Kevin is starting parties and causing ruckus on the dance floors with the tools and passion that were given to him that very boring summer.

Don't be surprised when you see Kevin's name on more and more events in the Southern California area. Kevin is now a Resident Desert Hearts Dj and recently has played with Dixon, Kill Frenzy, Justin Jay, Gigamesh, Zombie Disco Squad, and Walker & Royce. It's Inevitable that he'll only continue to build his growing reputation.

DINK
An up and coming name for some, but movers and shakers, dreamers of dreams, lovers and lucrids of Desert Hearts…..he’s a house hold name. Usually donning the finest wig money can buy, this guy takes to the decks like a hurricane through a neighborhood, leaving mayhem and carnage at every turn. He’s a festival favorite for good reason, his fine tuned style of jackin house meets techy bouncy bass meets Chicago style four to the floor has brought him to the forefront of the house music scene of San Diego, putting him on the much deserved radar of just about everyone out there. I’ve been listening to his music for a while now, a lot of you have as well…..and either way if you have or you haven’t, you’re in for one hell of a treat. I just hope Monarch’s cement floor is reinforced with another layer of steal, because…..DINK!

Bengal
Upon exposure to a wide scope of musical traditions and origins ranging everywhere from Javanese Gamelan, Classical Piano, and to the traditional music of Africa, Bengal blends together these experiences into a new highly infectious brand of organic house that holds the raw energy that grips the dance floor.

R. Fentz
R. Fentz is the new musical project by Zack Yakovlev. Originally from Russia and living in the United States for most of his life, it is the last 10 years in San Francisco that has truly shaped his musical views, artistic spirit, and his quest in life. Alone, and as part of his alias Bells & Whistles, Zack has been a top choice for promoters and clubs around the world, and been trusted to provide direct warmup support for artists like DJ Koze, Maya Jane Coles, Solomun, Andhim, Paul Kalkbrenner, Detroit Swindle, Anja Schneider, Bos Moses and many more. He has gained residences with Southern California based festival “Desert Hearts”, Bay Area’s production powerhouse “As You Like It”, and become a regular choice at local clubs including Public Works, Monarch and the what once was, 222 Hyde. While he explored his sound, he also explored the world, and was truly thankful to have been able to perform at festivals including; Fusion Festival, Burning Man, Desert Hearts, Sunset Campout and Snow Globe. Constantly trying to learn something from every new crowd and environment, he broadened his range, tightened his execution, and gained a reputation for being able to always play the right music, at the right time. Whether outside on a sunny day, or a barely lit room underground, Zack has learned to read and respect the situation, adapt to it, change to it, yet always bring a level of playfulness and joy that can be heard on across every mix and original production.

Having started playing around with making music way before ever touching his first pair of turntables, production has always been a key part of his life, and as Bells & Whistles he was lucky enough to release music on labels like OM, Thoughtless/XLR8R, Desert Heart Records, Kabutamoshi and Mioli Music. While Djing will always be an integral part of who Zack is, and a major focus for the R. Fentz project, original music and live performances will also be a major tool to help better express himself, and his musical tastes. With his debut EP, “Coming Home”, set for release in December 2016 on Atish and Mark Slee’s label Manjumasi, and a follow-up on the new but already impressive SF imprint Das Sind Wir in February 2017, Zack is ready to invite the world to join him on his quest through life, time, and music.

Evan Casey
An amateur becomes an artist when he commits himself to the experience of unadulterated self-discovery. Evan Casey was already an accomplished DJ, headlining some of the most well-established and well-known clubs in Southern California and playing with top 100 DJs, when he decided to take a step back. The club circuit had become bland and he knew there was something else that would strike a more genuine chord with his true tastes.

It takes courage to make bold decisions. Through a few fateful run-ins, Evan found a new home with Desert Hearts, an intimate community rooted in house, techno and love. It was at this juncture that the unraveling of his old life became a more beautiful union of not just musical fulfillment, but also of the life-long partnerships that guide fruitful careers.

Evan’s inescapable energy permeates his presences as a DJ. His musical selection never goes unnoticed, and he is consistently filling the main rooms of underground clubs and the dusty dance floors at festivals. As he continues his journey - now as an artist, rather than an amateur - Southern California party-goers should be anxiously awaiting what’s next from Evan Casey.
