Sheila M. Sofian, an Associate Professor in the John C. Hench Division of Animation & Digital Arts in the School of Cinematic Arts at UCLA, comes to the Porter College at UCSC as part of their Visual and Media Cultures Colloquium series. Entitled "Creative Challenges in the Production of Documentary Animation," this lecture will focus on such topics as the use of animation in non-fiction films, how animation can enhance the audience's understanding of the topic, and more. She will also shed light on the creative process of documentary animation production and the unique challenges faced when producing non-fiction animated films. Will be held in Porter Room D245 at Porter College.
