Arnold Dreyblatt is an American media artist, curator, and composer based in Berlin. He is one of the foremost of the second generation of minimal composers, having studied with Pauline Oliveros, La Monte Young, and Alvin Lucier. Dreyblatt has charted a unique course in composition and performance, having invented new instruments, performance techniques, and a system of tuning. Often characterized as a rock-oriented minimalist, DreyblattÂ’s transcendental and ecstatic sound is distinctly his own. As a curator, he has produced exhibitions such as Terry Fox: Ephemeral Gestures, which is currently touring throughout Europe. He is Professor of Media Art at the Muthesius Academy of Art and Design in Kiel, Germany.
