Visiting Artist: Elisabeth Subrin

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Filmmaker Elisabeth Subrin comes to UC Santa Cruz to discuss her recent projects in film, video, and art installation, as well as two current works-in-progress: a feature-length narrative film, A Woman A Part, starring Maggie Siff (Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy), and Damage Report, an installation commissioned by the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia. Subrin's work explores the intersections between history and subjectivity, investigating the nature and poetics of psychological "disorder," female representation, and the impact of recent social and political history on contemporary life and consciousness. This presentation will be held at the Communications Building, Room 150 (Studio C).
