David Chernyavsky was born in 1978 in St. Petersburg, Russia. He began the study of violin at the age of six and gave his first solo recital at 11. He attended the Special Music School at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and won second prize at the Open Competition of Young Violinists.
At the Indiana University School of Music, David won the IU Concerto Competition and was awarded the Kuttner Quartet Scholarship. He earned a Master's degree at the Juilliard School in New York City and has taught master classes around the world. In 2009, he joined the San Francisco Symphony.
David has recorded several CDs with the St. Petersburg Quartet and with the Joel Rubin Klezmer Music Ensemble, and released his own solo CD, "Klezmer Violin."
Jieyin Wu is a frequent harpist for the San Francisco Symphony and has performed around the globe. Her ensemble work includes the San Francisco Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas, the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and the Napa Valley Symphony, for which she was appointed principal harpist in 2004.
The Shanghai-born harpist began her musical training in piano and was accepted to the prestigious Shanghai Conservatory of Music at the age of eight. In 1998, Jieyin received a full harp scholarship at the Samuel Rubin Israeli Academy of Music in Tel Aviv, Israel. She completed her music education in the US, receiving both Bachelors and Master's degrees in Music Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Jieyin is highly sought after as an ensemble harpist and accompanist. She currently teaches both harp and piano in the SF Bay Area.
