VENUS is a new showcase series for women, and our mission is to elevate all who identify as women in the music industry. VENUS, being the planet of love and creative expression in astrology, helps us tune into our inner wisdom and trust our instincts. It values kindness over competition, compassion over comparison, and empowerment over ego. VENUS is co-founded by the record label and publishing company for women World Peach Records along with artist, entrepreneur and activist Tess Posner. The first VENUS showcase took place on International Women's Day 2024 at The Lost Church in San Francisco, and has taken place quarterly since.

The next VENUS Showcase is on Mar 6th, 7:30pm at The Lost Church in San Francisco, CA, celebrating International Women's Day 2025. This special one year anniversary and will feature:

KITKA:
The women in Kitka are fearless sonic explorers, and you can hear their intrepid spirit in every haunting song. For four decades, the nine-woman Oakland ensemble has developed a vast, breathtaking repertoire of traditional songs from the Balkans, Caucasus and Slavic lands, as well as new material composed for the group drawing on those traditional vocal practices. Traveling to rural communities in Armenia and Bulgaria, Ukraine and Georgia, Serbia and Turkey, they've gathered songs and communed with elders who are often the last links to centuries-old traditions. The ravishing textures of the women's voices, unearthly cadences, angular rhythms and unfamiliar languages make Kitka's performances an enthralling experience. The VENUS showcase will be presenting a special KITKA quartet ensemble.
