It is with pride and excitement that Venetia Valley School will host its 8th Annual Fall Carnival and Supply Drive on Saturday, October 17, 2015. The event will feature an assortment of delicious food, available for take-out; games and kids' activities including jumpies; live, local entertainment; face painting, henna tattoos and a cake walk; CrossFit gymnastics; and a drawing for a Wii, bicycle, $500 cash prize and other great items. For the Supply Drive, teachers created wish lists of items which have been posted on registries at Lakeshore Learning and Amazon. Families and community members are able to view the wish lists and make purchases online.
“The Carnival fulfills important goals for our school,” says Carnival Event Coordinator Renee O’Hare. “The most urgent goal is to raise money for special programs such as music, Playworks and garden to counteract budget cuts and enhance classroom learning. But, just as important, we are bringing Venetia Valley families and the community together for a fun, social activity. We're involving the community and local businesses to help us strive for the success of their community school. And, it’s a great opportunity to educate people about the many ways to support our students and get involved at the school.”
