Vanessa is one of the fastest rising young artists to come out of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She is a multi-talented vocalist, saxophonist, and songwriter. Vanessa spent a year and a half touring the continental United States and Turkey, honing her blues style alongside Grammy Award-winning artist and Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Joe Louis Walker. Vanessa has also played alongside Annie Lennox, Kathy Mattea, Willie Nelson, and other notable artists; headlined the Red Clay Jazz Festival in Kauai, Hawaii; played live on top radio shows; performed live on China’s equivalent of MTV; and was featured on Zhejiang TV while performing during a two week tour in China.Most recently, Vanessa was honored as a top three finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition for her original song "Bad News Bears", was featured as Elwood’s Blues Breaker Featured Artist of the week in October 2014, and subsequently honored as an elite Best of 2014 Blues Breaker (Elwood’s BluesMobile - House of Blues Radio) in December 2014.
Vanessa is currently on tour to promote the July 2014 release of her debut album entitled heart soul & saxophone. On her debut album, Vanessa demonstrates her skills as a master musician and songwriter, blending her blues background with elements of funk, rock, and soul and revealing her musical prowess as she effortlessly transitions from songs full of fiery, powerful vocals and gritty saxophone solos to soul-stirring ballads packed with raw emotion. Rounding out her band are stand-out Berklee musicians: Eric Finland (keys), Jordan Rose (drums), Justin Schornstein (bass), and Noe Socha (guitar and harmonica).
