Calling all Cyborgs and Androids to UNPLUG! at Cat Club, Sunday Feb 23rd, for night 45 of our weekly dark electronic music party. Celebrating all things Cyberpunk, Electro, and beyond.
DJs spin music under the "Cyberpunk" umbrella, such as: Electro, Synthwave, Midtempo Bass, Cyber Goth/Industrial Techno, Phonk, Dark Breaks, and anything similar that we deem appropriate. If you're tired of the same old same old, we got you covered. Come support local artists, at an independent venue, pushing new and unique sounds that you won't hear at any other event.

We will also have 4 TVs set up with various video games for you to play, a big stack of board games, giant connect 4, and cornhole. The first person to beat our bartender Gib at Tekken 8 will get a drink ticket on us.

(Now for the tl;dr writeup)
We are more disconnected from each other than ever before. We're glued to screens all day, and are interacting with each other less and less in the real world. We date through apps, take taxis without drivers, shop on the webz (or use self checkout when going to a physical store), get takeout/groceries/weed etc delivered, take 0nIine3 classes, have zoom meetings, work remotely, play video games with people 0nIin3, communicate via social media and text, \/\/4tch DJs Iive5tr3am, have ai create our art, and so many other things that are depriving us of much needed community and human interaction. There is an epidemic of loneliness, depression, anxiety, addiction, self harm, and suicide as a result. This is not the future I was hoping for, so I wanted to create a space where we can unplug from all of the noise, and reconnect with each other. A place where anyone can feel comfortable being who they are without judgement, chat with a stranger in a welcoming environment, dance to some different music, and feel like a kid again without the urge to pull your phone out every few minutes for a quick dopamine hit. Let's get weird and step out of our comfort zones to resist brain rot!
