UNPLUG! + 8BitSF: Cyber Sonic Rave (4 DJs, 3 Sonic Game Stations, Gold Ring + Chaos Emerald Hunt)

Calling all Cyborgs and Androids to UNPLUG with us at Cat Club, Sunday Dec 22nd, for night 36 of our weekly dark electronic music party.
This week, to celebrate the new Sonic movie, we're throwing our Cyber Sonic Rave, co hosted by 8BitSF.
Come dressed up as any video game character from any franchise or system, but bonus points if you come dressed as a Sonic, or Sega character.
We will have 3 TVs set up with various Sonic games for you to play, and a big stack of board games.
We're also hiding 100 gold rings and 7 chaos emeralds around the club. If you find 20 rings and turn them in to us, you will get a free drink ticket. There are 2 prizes/winners for the chaos emeralds hunt. A Sonic plushie, and a Shadow action figure. The person who turns in the most chaos emeralds will get first pick. The rings and emeralds will not be hidden behind any doors, so please don't open any utility closets or office doors. They also won't be in the back room since we close that room on Sundays. They won't be hidden in the bathrooms, behind the bar, in coat check, in the smoking section, or in the DJ booth either. So basically in all the common areas everyone can access.

(Now for the deeper tl;dr writeup)
We are more disconnected from each other than ever before. We are glued to screens all day, and are interacting with each other less and less in the real world. We date on apps, take taxis without drivers, buy things online, get takeout delivered, use self checkout, take online classes, have zoom meetings, work remotely from home, play video games with people in separate houses (or countries), communicate via social media and text, watch DJs livestream more than in person, have ai create our art, and so many other things that are depriving us of much needed community and human interaction. There is an epidemic of loneliness, depression, anxiety, addiction, and suicide as a result, so I wanted to create a space where people can unplug from all of the noise, and reconnect with each other. A place where anyone can feel comfortable being who they are without judgement, chat with a stranger in a welcoming environment, be goofy and childish without guilt, and not have the urge to pull your phone out every few minutes for a dopamine hit. At the very least, hopefully we can fight brain rot for just a few hours.
San Francisco's nightclub scene has also become incredibly stale. There used to be tons of events that played a variety of different genres, but everything feels so homogenized now. It feels like everything is either a Top 40 tribute night, some Tech House thing, or a massive headliner based night that you end up shelling out $200 for after all expenses are tallied up. There are a decent amount of live shows, but those tend to end at midnight, and watching a show as a spectator just doesn't feel like we're connecting with each other like we do on club nights. My goal of this night is to not only bring some different music to the forefront to diversify our scene, but to also give all of our amazing DJs out here a space to experiment. I'm tired of everyone playing it safe. Let's get weird.
