Univserval Cafe

Restaurants , Breakfast / Brunch , California Cuisine

What pleases the most about the Universal is the air of good taste that it carries without pretense. The attention to detail flows through the delightful interior design, right to the cuisine. The one-room restaurant embodies a cozy chic feel with design elements brought to you by Larrisa and Jeff Sand of South Park Fabricators (designers of 330 Ritch and Plouf Bistro to name a couple).

The newly installed Chef Peter Erickson brings a slightly more eclectic feel to the menu while still respecting its traditional California Cuisine roots. While "seasonal" ingredients are the name of the game, the chicken liver and roasted fig appetizer is nothing short of blissful. For a lighter fare, the antipasto with braised albacore tuna, beets, olives, prosciutto, tomatoes and arugula is perfectly respectable.

The top-notch service, fine food and wonderful interior make this venue a fun and versatile experience. - Excerpt from Universal Café, A top notch dining experience by Michael Chano
