Reception Sat, Feb 11, 6-8pm, Exhibition extended through March 21, 2017
In conjunction with the exhibition, Un | Moored: Oscillations and Migrations, The Arts at CIIS is delighted to host UC Berkeley historian and scholar Leigh Raiford in conversation with artist Hellen Gaudence. They will be exploring Gaudence's images, which pair portraits of African immigrants to the American Southwest with "portraits" of the landscape of Tanzania, the artist's homeland. How can we think about representation of the African diaspora through the figure and the land?
