U2 will begin the first leg of their Vertigo//2005 world tour in San Diego on March, 28th 2005. The tour follows the release of their 11th album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb which has sold more than 8.5 million copies worldwide since its release November 23rd, 2004. The album entered the U.S. charts at #1. Vertigo//2005 will visit 13 cities in North America before arriving in Brussels on June 10th for the first of 24 scheduled European performances.
Paul McGuinness of Principle Management said: "Now that all the logistics are worked out, the band are really looking forward to getting on the road. I've heard the new songs in rehearsal and they sound really great and the new production is going to blow everyone away."
