Two Play Improv Extravaganza

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Moment Improv Theatre hosts a monthly "Two Play Improv Extravaganza" which features three unique improv comedy duos who each push the limit of what is possible onstage in inventive and interesting ways. Hosting the show will be special guest and stand-up comic Teddy Hull, who will have you laughing before and after each improv performance with engaging crowd work and top notch comedy.
The theater space is intimate and features excellent sight-lines, and incredible acoustics so you can capture every nuance of the performance. The theater lobby is a great place to meet new friends and talk with the performers in a warm atmosphere.
Headlining this month's show is Liss n' Sams with Second City alumnus Joe Liss and Moment's Artistic Director, Marcus Sams! They've played multiple improv festivals across the country as well as Second City, LA. Ron West of Whose Line is it Anyway said, “Liss n’ Sams made me laugh… and I don’t laugh at improv anymore.”
Right before them you will see Veteran Improv babes, Rachel Hamilton (The Second City, Magnet Theater) and Kimberly MacLean (BATS, Speechless)  invite you on their wild ride of discovery to untraveled territory, all made up on the spot!
Opening the show will be Jocelyn Alive and Bennett Chabot in TUB. Dave Razowsky, former Artistic Director, Second City Hollywood says: Their chemistry is real, heartfelt, and compelling.
Laugh off your long week with us at Moment!

More info:
Host: Teddy Hull
Theo Hull has performed all over California. Everywhere from dive bars (where he looks like he belongs) to clubs like the San Jose Improv and Flappers in Burbank. His goofy style of comedy ranges from a variety of rants to some-what intelligent bits. Giving his perspective on a wide range of topics he always keeps the audience engaged.

Liss n' Sams : Joe Liss & Marcus Sams
Joe and Marcus first performed together in a Leela show and they instantly felt the improv Karma that transformed into Liss n’ Sams! Since then they have improvised all over the country. Joe is a Second City alumnus and has appeared on TV in Hidden America with Jonah Ray, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Strangers With Candy. Film roles include God Bless America, Wayne’s World II, Home Alone 2, and Major League. Among his writing credits are Third Rock From the Sun, SpongeBob Squarepants, and Drawn Together. Marcus is the Artistic Director of Moment Improv Theatre, the co-founder of the Bay Area Film Mixer and a working actor. He has performed in 60+ national improv festival shows, was a member of the critically-acclaimed group, Oui Be Negroes, and has performed with Leela for over decade.

Hamilton & MacLean: Rachel Hamilton & Kimberly MacLean
Rachel Hamilton is a graduate of Northwestern University, an alumna of The Second City, Chicago, as well as a director, performer and an Emmy-nominated writer. Rachel cut her teeth in the Chicago Improv scene, sharing the stage with geniuses like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch, and scads of other Improv luminaries. Kimberly MacLean‘s love of improv has brought her to work with many Bay Area troupes, namely as a main-stage performer with BATS Improv. She most recently starred as the lovable, quirky Tina in “All the Others Were Practice”. Kimberly has a M.Ed and currently teaches at California College of the Arts and A.C.T. and is the Director of Learning at Speechless which allows her to travel and spread the improv gospel around the world.

TUB: Jocelyn Alive & Bennett Chabot
Jocelyn’s love of performing can be traced to her upbringing. Born to performing-artist parents, her home-found attachment to being onstage was inevitable. Her love of improv came at Leela’s Monday night drop in class in 2012; she has since drunk the Kool-Aid. Jocelyn joined Leela’s Performing Improv Ensemble (P.I.E.) Program in 2013, learning and performing for three terms in troupes Robots to Rebels and the all-women True Medusa. Bennett is a graduate of Olin College of Engineering with a varied background in the performing arts. He was an original member of The Options, backing band of the nationally touring singer-songwriter Jamie Kent. He began zealously studying improv in August of 2012 at Leela SF, where he met Jocelyn by introducing her as a rockstar. Going on to be a founding member of boisterous San Francisco improv troupe The Drop-Ins, Bennett has since performed in venues around the Bay Area.
