Music at the Market is presented by San Jose Jazz.
Father-son duo Twice As Good is comprised of musical duo Richard James Steward, and his son Paul Anthony Steward. Richard had grown up around music all his life, having learned to play guitar and sing country music from his mom. He always admired blues and soul, so when son Paul showed musical interest as a teenager, Richard taught his son to play guitar, encouraging him in the ways of great B.B. King. The pair debuted as “Twice As Good†in 2003, and since have performed all over the USA, released 7 albums, gained a West Coast Blues Award, a Native American Music Award, an Indian Summer Music Award, and strong recognition from the San Francisco Chronicle, Living Blues Magazine, and Blues Blast Magazine, to name just a few publications.
The name “Twice As Good†isn’t a claim of status; to Paul and Rich, it is a dedication to hard work and quality of craft–having the courage to try something as hard as becoming a successful professional musician. They were once told, “You can’t make it in the music business, you got to be twice as goodâ€. So they replied, “Well, all right then. We will be ‘Twice As Good.'â€
