Turn Ambition into Action with Design Thinking and Leadership Power Tools

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Lets accept it - right now is an opportune time to be a professional woman. While we women historically haven't had a seat at the table, today we can redefine the future on our own terms. What does that mean? Showing up - to embrace our power, to turn gender inequality challenges into opportunities, to fuel our ambitions into actions and engage meaningfully with change in our professional and personal lives.
Who are we?
Take The Lead is a non-profit organization with an ambitious mission to achieve gender parity in leadership by #2025. In order to do that we focus on preparing, developing, inspiring, and propelling women to take their fair and equal share of leadership positions across all sectors through workshops and trainings.
What is this workshop about?
This is a comprehensive solution-based workshop that cracks the code holding women back by transforming their culturally learned ambivalence towards power. It teaches women how to identify problems and change systems as well as succeed in the world as it is. Using a Design Thinking framework and Leadership Power Tools, attendees develop a personalized Strategic Leadership Action Plan.
Who should attend?
This workshop will benefit any woman who wants to propel her career to the next level, set and achieve higher career aspirations, understand how external or internal implicit biases hold her back and engage meaningfully with a growing dialogue of women's empowerment to dismantle the stale and redundant cultural discourses that limit female leadership.
What can I expect from this workshop?
This workshop will guide participants in self-reflection and develop a questioning mindset. Attendees will learn to identify and address limiting beliefs and actions imposed internally or externally.
Participants will learn -

To identify and deal with implicit bias effectively.
To find the confidence that leads to bigger intentions for your work and life.
To leverage your own power journey.
The immediately actionable 9 Leadership Power Tools and how to use them in your life and work.
To create your personal Strategic Leadership Action Plan.
To collaborate with women (and men) from diverse professional backgrounds to get a better perspective on problems and solutions.

About us
Take The Lead's comprehensive curriculum was developed by Gloria Feldt, Co-Founder and President of Take The Lead and former President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
This workshop will be hosted by Shalini Sardana, a certified Leadership Ambassador for Take The Lead. She is also a human-centered designer and researcher with a passion for social innovation. With design experience that spans over 12 years in fashion, graphic and interactive design, Shalini brings an innovative approach to women's leadership challenges. As an immigrant and aspiring social entrepreneur, issues of diversity and inclusion have personal resonance for her. Her professional journey has given her a unique vantage point by morphing two different cultural outlooks, both of which inform her leadership training workshops. She has worked with the Mechanical Engineering Design Group at Stanford University to apply design-thinking methodologies to storytelling. She holds an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master's in Design from California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
