Local beatmaker Tunah, is an old-school hip-hop loving, crate-digging vinyl enthusiast. Yet, his own music isn't strictly throwback. Sure he spins some classic straight-forward funk beats like hip-hop DJs of yore, but he mixes it with a dreamy, totally hypnotic vibe, some totally consuming instrumental, surreal soundscapes. His beats are technically dance grooves, but the presence of all the overwhelming psychedelic samples make it better music to relax to, or even sit around and analyze the multiple layers of sound.
