The Press is focused on positively influencing the lives of others through their musical message. They are using their passion for music to spread love, positivity and inspiration. Their message is to inspire listeners to keep pressing on to overcome obstacles and reach their goals in life. People are drawn to True Press by the dexterity of their harmonies, which differentiates them from other SoCal reggae acts. In the words of Gyl Bonus the band’s lead guitarist, “What had caught my ear was the vocal dynamics between Pedro and Kenny with fat bass lines from Johnny...what caught my heart was the message they were giving.”
True Press has played a various range of festivals and venues like the California Roots Festival and House of Blues, headlining as well as opening for roots acts like Don Carlos, Midnite, and Israel Vibration to the New Generation like Rebelution, Slightly Stoopid and The Green. Their show starts with a good energy on stage and makes people feel the music is coming from a real place. The set flows with good vibes and smooth transitions; the message is consistently delivered with no lulls or downtime. The fans are energized from start to finish.
True Press has recorded two EP’s “Article 1” and “Sweet Reggae” and also released a few singles, “Soul Rebel” and “Wake Up Cry”. The band is currently in the process of recording their first full length self-titled album scheduled to release early 2014.
Embarking on their first coast-to-coast tour to promote their upcoming album release, this is just the beginning for True Press to reach fans world-wide. And as long as they can continue making music that is good for the soul, it’s no where near the end.
