Trio Ochs-Johnston-Robair

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists (see times)
Jazz in the Neighborhood presents three long-time Bay Area musicians — Larry Ochs on saxophone, Darren Johnston, trumpet, and Gino Robair, percussion — who make magic happen in this newly formed trio. An intersection of their creative collaborations, it started in January when Ochs and Robair made some really cool musical connections with Thollem MacDonas, and expanded as Ochs and Johnston toured as Spectral with Chicago altoist Dave Rempis in May. Merging collectively under the alternate sobriquet "Play That Thing or Throw It Away,” Trio Ochs-Johnston-Robair gave their first concert on June 19 at the Center for New Music and have a recording session planned for 2016.
