Phillip Wolfson, poetCandy Chavez, Consul of the Consulate General of Peru in San Francisco will present Carmen Abad a Diploma of Recognition for her artistic and literary works that include among others, a first prize in a national Peruvian poetry contest about the city of Cajamarca, in 1969, with her poem “Caxamarca,” and a first prize at the First Latin-American Poetry Contest in Spanish, in 2011, organized by the Colectivo Verso Activo of the City of San Francisco.Other talented Peruvian and Chilean artists will join the tribute sharing their dance and songs, reciting her poetry, and showering Carmen with their love and appreciation for the legacy she has given us. A tribute by her talented Peruvian-Italian dear friend and poet, Gladys Basagoitia will be read by her personal emissary who will deliver her gratitude and affection of a friendship that continued this life-time, and will probably live on for ever.
