The Bay Area's acclaimed Lamplighters Music Theatre will present Gilbert and Sullivan's original hit, TRIAL by JURY, with an original Lamplighter spoof, TRIAL by JURY DUTY, Mountain View (March 21), Walnut Creek (March 29) and San Francisco (April 6, 7).
Lamplighters pairs two hilarious one acts on this double bill. First, the original success by Gilbert and Sullivan, TRIAL by JURY. A cad who jilted his fiancee, the jilted bride-to-be, her bridesmaids, a pontificating foreman, a lecherous judge, and a chorus of jurors debate her claim for reparations in this hilarious farce on the human condition.
Paired with this gem is a Lamplighters original show, TRIAL by JURY DUTY. Take a bit of Jane Austen, some Jane Eyre, and a touch of REBECCA, and see what the characters do AFTER the end of the original show! Happily ever after, or not so much??? Directed by Barbara Heroux and conducted by Baker Peeples, we have a winning combination!
