Transitioning from "Business As Usual” with Psychedelics

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Navigating Life and Business after Psychedelic Transformation
Join Paul Austin, founder of The Third Wave, for an evening of discussion on life transitions, and the role psychedelics play for integrating our personal lives with our professional ambitions. This event will also serve as the inaugural launch of the 3W Node in San Francisco, a monthly event series advancing psychedelic literacy and community building.
Paul will interview a panel of business and entrepreneurial leaders, each having experienced significant psychedelic transformations mid-career, impacting both their personal and professional lives. The panel will consist of Michael Costuros, an executive coach who works with ayahuasca; Tiffany Liu, former VP at LegalZoom and co-founder of two start-ups, and Tim Sae Koo, a founder who bootstrapped his first company, Tint, into a successful exit.
Our evening will start with a brief guided meditation to help you "drop into" the space and begin to dip into the ‘felt’ experience of responsible psychedelic use. Paul will then interview the panelists for an hour, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A. Finally, we will wrap up the evening with a kombucha mixer (compliments of Brew Dr.) allowing for plenty of time to meet other attendees who are also interested in the burgeoning growth of intentional, responsible psychedelic use.

It’s cliche for a reason: a successful, upwardly mobile professional has a transformational psychedelic experience that changes everything.
In recent years, psychedelics have found unprecedented acceptance within the American business elite. Scores of founders and executives have come forward to share the impact psychedelics had on their development and growth. What’s less discussed, however, is how these transitions take place. How can a deeper understanding of the self find practical application in our professional lives?
According to Harvard Business Review, more than 50% of venture-funded startups fail due to poor leadership and co-founder conflict. Given the extraordinary challenges we face in the 21st century, psychedelic-inspired leadership may very well help to disrupt “business as usual” practices, leading to a new generation of impact-driven social entrepreneurs focused on re-building social and ecological capital within our society.
Join The Third Wave for the inaugural launch of the 3W Node in San Francisco, where we will explore the above questions with a panel of 21st century business leaders. The event will take place at San Francisco's historic LGBT Center, and feature a live podcast followed by a complimentary kombucha mixer, providing a unique opportunity for conversation and community building for the advancement of intentional, responsible psychedelic use.

Schedule:
6:00 Doors Open
6:45 Group Meditation/ Event Intro
7:15 Live Podcast Discussion
8:15 Q+A
8:45 Kombucha Mixer (Compliments of Brew Dr.)
9:45 Doors Close

Michael Costuros
Michael Costuros is co-founder and executive director of Entrepreneurs Awakening. He has been working with Ayahuasca in Peru since 2008 and has lead 8 Ayahuasca enhanced business mastermind programs since 2012. In the process of leading more than 100 type-A innovators through the prep and integration process, Michael developed a unique approach to Ayahuasca prep and integration for high performing individuals.

Tiffany Liu
Tiffany Liu is a soul-seated leader, practicing compassionate leadership in her life's work to serve humanity by solving long-standing problems, creating opportunities and opening doors to a better world.
Tiffany was previously the VP & GM of B2B Sales and Innovation at LegalZoom where she led the effort to expand on the company's core business to deliver new value creation for SMBs. Within Innovation, her cross-functional team was responsible for design, product, customer experience, sales, marketing, operations, and delivery. Tiffany believes that driving organizational change and building customer-driven solutions is an opportunity to cultivate cultures that foster empathy, kindness, and higher consciousness.
She also co-founded two startups, including an education technology company funded by Gates Foundation and acquired by InsideTrack, an innovative education technology firm that offers coaching to improve college retention rates.

Tim Sae Koo
Tim Sae Koo is an aspiring lightworker, serving entrepreneurs to solve issues that pain their heart to see through founder-to-founder advising or mental health practices, from meditation to safe psychedelic exploration. He previously started, scaled, and sold his first company TINT in 2018 at 27 years old, which he bootstrapped to 40 full-time employees, $millions in annual recurring revenue, and 1000+ customers in 172 countries.
When Tim is not pondering about the next problem to solve or entrepreneur to support, he is either dancing salsa, mixing music, playing volleyball, reading self-growth books, practicing meditation, or backpacking around the world.

Paul Austin
Paul Austin is the Founder and Executive Director of The Third Wave, a digital media resource focused on psychedelic literacy, and Co-Founder of Synthesis, a psilocybin retreat center in Amsterdam.
Paul's mission is to increase cultural psychedelic literacy through the lens of microdosing and well-being to prepare the way for an above-ground regulated psychedelic market. In doing so, his vision is to help facilitate our society’s transition from a competitive, zero-sum mindset to a collaborative, social entrepreneurial approach. Psychedelics - in particular, microdosing - will act as a significant technological tipping point in catalyzing this transition.
